Carissa Sauer, APR

is a passionate, driven, senior-level communications professional with more than 18 years of progressive responsibility and leadership in all facets of corporate communications, internal communications and public relations. She has worked in Washington, Oregon and California for a multi-national food company, check-off program, specialty crop commodity board, architecture firm and boutique PR agency.

Carissa is committed to authentic and value-based communication. She also believes in fostering talent, and currently mentors several professionals. Her volunteer work over the years includes both the Oregon and Sacramento chapters of the Public Relations Society of America, the Oregon Agri-Business Council, Feeding America food banks, the Honey Bee Health Coalition and the American Red Cross|Blood Services.

In 2013, she was nationally accredited by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) is a voluntary certification program for public relations professionals. Earning this certification demonstrates mastery of today’s strategic communications practice, as well as commitment to continued learning and ethical standards.

More about Carissa

Carissa has a small family farm in Washington state that includes an extensive fruit orchard, vegetable gardens and numerous berry rows. There's also a few head of regenerative grass-fed beef.

Along with her husband and playful West Highland White terrier, she spends a lot of time with her Thoroughbred and Irish Sport Horse. She also enjoys hiking, home-grown family meals and exploring California and the Pacific Northwest’s wild and beautiful places.
